Be ready for an array of climate conditions. Temps vary with alterations in elevations and seasons. Day/evening temps may vary by greater than 30 ºF. We suggest checking current forecast for Zion Park, Utah at the time of traveling.

Periodic Weather

Spring
Spring weather conditions are very unpredictable. Stormy, wet days are typical, but warm, sunny weather can happen too. Precipitation peaks in March and September. Spring wild flowers blossom from April through June, peaking in May.

Summer time
Summer time days are hot, 95 – 100 ºF, but overnight lows are often comfortable at 65 – 70 ºF. Mid-day thunderstorms are typical from mid-This summer through September. Storms can establish waterfalls, in addition to expensive surges.

Fall
Fall days are often obvious and mild. Nights are frequently awesome. Fall color shows come from September within the high country as well as in early November in Zion Canyon.

Winter
Winters in Zion Canyon are fairly mild. Winter storms bring rain or light snow towards the canyon and heavier snow towards the greater elevations. Obvious days can achieve 60 ºF, and nights are frequently in the plethora of 20 – 30 ºF. Zion streets are plowed, except for Kolob Terrace Road, that is closed in the winter months. Be ready for winter driving between November and March.
