The Southern Utah Museum of Art (SUMA), area of the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for that Arts (The Beverley) around the campus of Southern Utah College (SUU) in Cedar plank City, UT, will open the summer time of 2016.
This condition-of-the-art museum is going to be the place to find roughly 5, 300 sq ft of exhibition space made up of several individual art galleries. These art galleries will host displays from around the globe, be the place to find a unique assortment of the job by Utah artist, Jim Johnson, and have rotating exhibits in the permanent collections. SUMA may also regularly exhibit work of Southern Utah University’s Art and style students and school, and supply a location for exhibiting regional artists and juried shows.
Roughly 5, 300 sq ft from the museum building is going to be devoted to collection storage, care, and research. Your building design allows site visitors to witness the behind the curtain procedures from the Museum’s collection within the Trismen Mason Collection and Conservation Studio. Another 1Thousand sq ft will give you class and studio space for hands-on educational activities for K-12 school groups emphasizing the present displays within the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Education Suite.
Through engaging exhibits and continuing educational programming, SUMA is a significant cultural resource for anyone of Utah and also the many site visitors to the area. The outlet exhibit will celebrate the 100th anniversary from the Nature, featuring the archeology, history, and art in our region.
