The Utah Olympic Park in Park City Utah was built in 2002 for the Utah Olympic Games. Now you can take a tour, watch Olympic athletes train and compete, and/or be thrilled on bobsled, zipline and alpine-slide rides. And best yet, admission to the venue is free!

On the winter track, you'll experience 5G's and speeds up to 80mph as you drop the equivalent of 40 stories in under 1 minute. You start at the actual bobsled start used during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and ride the full track (just under a mile) from start to finish.

Cost: $200/person

Passengers: 3 + experienced driver

Minimum age: 16 with ID. Parents signature required under age 18

When: Various dates between December 26 - March 24 (check website for exact times)

Reservations: Highly Recommended! They begin taking reservations for the next winter season starting November 1st.

Summer Boblsed Ride

Not as fast, but still a thrill. You'll take on 4G's and speeds up to 70mph on a wheeled bobsled. Much cheaper price. Here's an amateur video of the run:

Cost: $65/person

Mininum age: 14 with ID. Parents signature required under age 18

When: August 26 - October 15 (Sat & Sun) and
September 2 September 4 (Sat, Sun, Mon)

Reservations: Not required, but you may want to call ahead to make sure you get a ride.

Take an exhilarating ride on the WORLD'S STEEPEST ZIPLINE! There are two ziplines to choose from, the Xtreme Zip and the Ultra Zip.

This European-style alpine slide (Autoboggan) is the first of its kind in North America. It is a state-of-the-art steel track and will allow riders to weave down a narrow course that concludes at the base of the K-64 ski jump. See what it feels like to be a luge, skeleton or bobsled athlete!

Cost: $15 for drivers (ages 8+ yrs) and $7 for passengers (ages 3-7 yrs)

June 2-3: Saturday + Sunday, 11a - 6p June 9 - September 3: 10a - 6p

Alpine Slide Ride

Regular admission into the Utah Olympic Park includes a self-guided tour of the Olympic competition sites and access to the Joe Quinney Winter Sports Center which includes the Alf Engen Ski Museum, 2002 Eccles Olympic Winter Games Museum, retail shop and theater.

There's also summer Saturday Freestyle Shows in the pool and World Cup events during the winter.

Directions:

The Utah Olympic Park is only a few minutes drive from any of the Park City Ski Resorts. When driving from I-80, take Exit 145 (Kimball Junction) onto Highway 224 going south toward Park City. At the second traffic light, take a right turn onto Olympic Parkway on the west side of Highway 224. Drive about one mile up the road to the entrance gatehouse, Olympic legacy plaza and visitor parking.
